Digital Media Technician
Posted February 4th, 2010: In this position, you will be creating various proxy media files (Windows Media, QuickTime, MPEG-1, Flash Video, AppleTV, etc), chaptered DVD’s, as well as AVID and FCP media in both standard and high definition formats. You will also be working with RED, Arri, Phantom, P2, and XDCAM media, running conversions, outputs and file transfers. We transfer media via FTP and Aspera FASPex. The projects range from media creation for dailies viewing (by editorial departments in local, national and international locations) as well as the editing and output of independent and feature films to HD tape sources. It is expected that you have experience in cross-platform networking. Furthermore, you should have experience with both FTP and alternative networking protocols. It is thus required that you possess very strong computer skills and a good understanding of production. In addition, you must be able to handle constant deadlines under high pressure and be able to multi-task. It is required that you maintain the strictest confidentiality of client material. In the end, this position will allow you to develop strong assistant editorial and computer networking skills. We are currently seeking someone wiling to work from 12 midnight until 9:00am. We appreciate that this is a difficult time slot but we are growing and need your help. This position provides you with broad exposure to all sides of post-production - Editorial, Digital Intermedia, Telecine, Sound Design and multiple digital camera formats.
