Ira has been in the Television and Film Industry for over 35 years. He started out as a cameraman and one of his first gigs was working at the Woodstock Music Festival in 1969. In the mid 70’s he was one of the original colorists at Duart Labs to operate the first Rank Cintel Telecine machine in the United States.
In his early years he was the senior colorist involved in the transfer of such films as Star Wars, The Godfather and Alien. In more recent years he worked on films such as Sex and the City, The Accidental Husband, Ceremony, Padre Nuestro and Woody Allen’s film, Vicky Christina Barcelona. He has worked on music videos for such artists as Cindy Lauper, C and C Music Factory, Judy Collins, and Billy Joel just to name a few. He is also very pleased to have had the opportunity to work on the Emmy award winning Showtime series, “This American Life”. Several of the well-known commercial spots he worked on are Cheerios, Subaru, Coppertone, Burger King and Budweiser’s Bud Bowl campaign for the Super Bowl.
